What is something most people don't know about you?

I began practicing law in December 2011 after spending 8 years as a paralegal. Like Abraham Lincoln, I learned about law by reading. Rather than attending law school, I was a Rule 6 Law Clerk. As a clerk, I worked full-time as a paralegal and in my spare time, and with the assistance of my mentor, studied the law on my own. The Rule 6 Program is a four-year program and is operated by the Washington State Bar Association.

Why do you think it's important for people to shop local?

While it is easy to find what we need online, it is important to support local businesses, neighbors and friends who are committed to make the Valley a wonderful place to live and work.

Where are your favorite places to go in the neighborhood/Valley?

I enjoy going to Trail Youth for coffee and experience the welcoming environment it offers kids in the Valley.  I also love to shop at DT Vintage or Birches Habitat, then pick up flowers from Down to Earth.

What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood/Valley?

I enjoy being part of Keep It Local, attending the Chamber of Commerce events, attending business workshops at Umpqua Bank, volunteering at Opstad Elementary and Mt. Si High School.

What are your favorite restaurants in the Valley?

Gianfranco, Trappers, and Wildflower Bistro

What is something most people don't know about the business?

That my profession is not filled with attorneys who are litigious.
